I've used it as a run-from-CD desktop distribution. As such, it's
really good -- a classic updating-Debian-to-cutting-edge distro combined
with Knoppix hardware detection and a lot of attention to detail.
I'm not sure that it or any other Knoppix-derivative is really an
optimal choice as something to install to one's hard disk: You end up,
usually, with something that's close to one of the main Debian
development tracks, but not exactly, because of some package choices
that were derived from elsewhere. The result is a system that works
great for starters (and _can_ continue to work great) but (in many
cases is a bit more challenging than, say, stock Debian-sarge (current
"testing" branch) to maintain, on account of those architectural
differences.
What specifically are you looking for? If you're looking for a
Debian-compatible HD installer, I have a list of large numbers of them
at "Installers" on http://linuxmafia.com/kb/Debian/ , and might be able
to help if you can tell me what you're seeking.
