Subversion is working again after Kayos dumped/restored the repository.
Subversion 1.0 was released a week ago. Sources and binaries are
here http://subversion.tigris.org/project_packages.html
BEBs for Debian Stable are at
http://people.debian.org/~cjwatson/subversion-woody/
You'll have to download db4.2-util, db4.2, libapr0, libdb4.2,
libneon24, libsvn0, and subversion from there to meet all the
dependencies, and those also depend on other packages in Debian.
subversion-tools and python2.1-subversion have a bunch of other
dependencies so I didn't install those. They aren't needed for
ordinary client use of svn.
All my remaining errors cleared up when I upgraded, and the authors
of the Subversion book also encourage using the latest version
available, since it has been changing rapidly.
