[TAG] COM port missing

Hi list,
here is a very critical problem in my linux box. I have finally upgraded my 
10yrs old PI system to AMD sempron. I use both LIRC as well as serial PIC 
programmer (JDM). in my new motherboard I have only one COM port rather than 
the two in previous one. at present it is not possible to build a USB lirc or 
pic programmer.  more over the serial pic programer (JDM) takes it power from 
the COM port . 
there is a 5-pin header in the new motherboard for  *INFRARED MODULE 
CONNECTOR* is it possible to change it to COM port ? in BIOS setting there 
are 2 options regrading infrared *disable/enable*

please suggest me how to work with *existing serial lirc and JDM*
