[TAG] MS DOS 7.10 disappeared?

Hello,

I forgot to mention that the "solution" I proposed *did* work
for me ... but I haven't used that machine in a long time---it is
now one of the servers on our network hand has no time to play midi
or any other songs for me.

OK. Th external midi was what worked for an older version of
"playmidi", now that there is explicit support for "awe" one should
use that.

Can't really help you here. For me what I proposed "Just Worked".
Here is the list of audio related modules that are loaded---soundcore,
sound, ac97_codec, emu10k1.

A very useful source of help is Takeshi Iwai's pages on the use of SB
Live. (Google for this). I also recall the some pages written by
Markus Brinkmann helped.
