Just while we're in the general area of Perl advocacy, I spotted this 
statement on the website for "An Gramad?ir" (Irish grammar checker - 
http://borel.slu.edu/gramadoir/): "As of version 0.5 the core engine is 
written entirely in Perl which means it will run on just about anything 
that plugs in."
