Ah, well.  The other type of soup that I crave when I have a nasty cold
is Vietnamese noodle soups -- into which I sometimes pour some more of
their chili-based sauce.  E.g,, there's a soup eatery with the unlikely
name of "Linda's Place" a few blocks from my place in San Francisco, on
Mission between 1st and 2nd Streets.

In large parts of the South Bay, one of those is reliably within
crawling distance even when you're in the throes of the Martian Death
Flu.

So, someone would tell me we should meet "out in the hall", and I'd be
completely confused.  What hall?
