[TAG] Administrivia: Scheduled downtime

As I mentioned, my household, and therefore my house aDSL connection,
and therefore my Internet server, and therefore also lists.linuxgazette.net,
are moving to a new physical address. This is a progress report.

Today, we placed the move order with my local telco and my bandwidth
provider. The changeover will occur Monday, May 8, 2006. I've never
moved a DSL line before, so don't know how much downtime to expect,
but have done everything I can think of, to keep it to well under 24
hours (including keeping my present IP addresses).

At some point on that day (as reckoned per Pacific Daylight Time,
UTC+7), all LG mailing lists will become temporarily unreachable, until
I move the DSL splitter/filter to the new house and bring the servers
back online.

Various of you have my cellular number, in case things do NOT go well.
;->

Please note that the http://linuxgazette.net/ virtual Web and Subversion
host (which has no mailing lists, but does handle various non-list mail
for LG) will be unaffected. By contrast, mail to me
(rick at linuxmafia.com) _will_ be affected. Ditto, any mail that Ben and
Thomas elect to funnel through linuxmafia.com (my server's main name).

Alternate e-mail address for me: rick at deirdre.net
