We need some (actually a lot of) information before we can try helping:

* your Linux distribution, version and package management system
* Did you try to install binaries or try to compile xine from source?
* What command gave you which error? 
* WHICH dependencies are missing?
* What "additional package" are you referring to? What would you expect
  said  package to do? add codecs? add a GUI? "fix the dependencies"?
