[TAG] State of the state

Folks, I'm in middlin' poor shape at the moment. Anyone who's sent me
any messages recently, please pardon my inability to respond in
reasonable time. Just to recap, recent/current events include:

o   Three weeks on the road so far, at least two more to go, with lots
more road time already scheduled.

o   Attending SCALE in L.A., where Kat and I did a huge LG promo (talked
to the staff at every booth there about writing up their stuff for us.)

o   My father died of lung cancer last week - I just happened to be in
L.A., where he was, and had to deal with all of the fallout. No
condolences necessary for reasons I don't really want to get into,
but... it was still quite a load.

o   Dealing with a very rough sinus and ear infection, antibiotics and
all, while flying across the country - and going from *very* cold
(Boston) to quite warm (L.A.) back to very cold (New York, this week)
and then to extremely cold (Boston again, next week) is _not_ a
wonderful treatment for those afflicted bits.

o   My laptop has been showing signs of immediately imminent croakage -
I've had to bring up that long-deferred 64-bit Linux install on this HP
Pavilion I'm using now at emergency speed, since I have to have a
working machine to do business. It _hasn't_ been trivially easy.

o   Due to a number of factors (flights, mostly), I'm running on a
serious deficit of sleep.

I'm going to give my best shot to maintain and recover, but - it's all a
bit of a challenge at the moment. Stay tuned.
