[TAG] Reminder about editing process

As a reminder, if you're on the LG editing staff and wish to help out
with the copy editing or technical editing (thanks!), please note as
indicated in the STATUS file for the upcoming issue that you are doing
so, and update STATUS in svn. This indicates to others that you are
working on the file, and that they should not attempt work on it at the
same time.

Two days ago, I did that with a long and complex article called
lazar.html . It required a considerable amount of copy editing
(as the author appears allergic to commas, among other things, not to
mention other time-wasting annoyances like paragraph-long lines).
Also, I had to write a long editorial footnote, for the bottom of the
piece.

So, I went a few minutes ago, to check it back in -- and found that
svn said my local copy was "out of date". I fetched the head version
and diffed it against mine -- but then ultimately decided that the
other editor who didn't comply with our protocol was simply going to
have to lose. Anyway, whoever it was, your edits have been discarded.
Please consider coordinating your work with the other editors, per our
documented process, to avoid having this happen in the future. Thanks!
