DO NOT use the the "preconfigured" "LPT1 (Epson)". 

Use Add-printer, give its names, tell the webpage it's on parallel 1 --
nothing else. 

Then this ILL ask with a pure manufacturer list, choose epson, the list
of availabpe printers in the "model" windo is on the next page then.
